Kyanite is a Silicate mineral typically blue in the color. It can also be white, gray, black, pink, orange, and rarely green. The mineral is among metamorphic pegmatites and sedimentary rocks rich in aluminum. When found in metamorphic rock it is usually a sign of high pressures over 4 kilobars.
It is discovered in the several countries such as the USA, Brazil, Italy, and Switzerland to name a few. As a raw material, it is used for the manufacture of high- temperature porcelain products, electrical insulators, and acid resistance products. It’s also a very brittle and should be handled carefully.
